Dispute Resolution

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, based in the city of London, is the international professional body for this process with worldwide influence and branches in major developed countries.

In addition to being a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Arbitration and am a qualified Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators . This two year course examines the areas of law covering the English Legal System, Contract, Tort, Evidence and Arbitration, Practice, Procedure and Award Writing.

"The Act" is The Arbitration Act 1996 .

The Act has the following basic principals;

  1. Self autonomy for the parties to decide the processes.
  2. To provide a quick process.
  3. To provide a cost effective process.

We can assist clients in the following areas of potential dispute with a third party;

  • Boundary locations. (Land Registration Act 2002)
  • Subsidence
  • Party Wall issues. (Party Wall Act 1996)
  • Right of Light.( Prescription Act 1832 and Right to Light Act 1959)
  • Compulsory Purchase and Compensation
